Location

For our promo we would like to use a street scene because it will work well with the lyrics. Lyrics like 'no reason' can give meaning that he doesnt know what to do or where to go as he has questions but no answers. Having people on the street and around the acters will show him lonely and keep the focus on him at all times. Also this has come from inspiration from 'The Verves' song 'bitter sweet symphony' where he is walking down the street by himself bumping into people with no one around him liking or taking notice of him.

Lead singer walking down the street buming into people not caring why or who they are. Walking by himself will highlight the lyrics more.

close up of the lead singer performing as he walks down the street. his facial expressions are plain and bleak with no real happiness on  his face, this is what we would like in our promo as our lyrics are sad and fairly dark, but have an upbeat tempo whihc will suit a fast walk down a street.

the empty stage represetnts no one to listen or to care like the lyrics 'no reason' or for no one to come to watch the performance. The lyric 'dont you dare' sounds like anger or frustration within an arguement, like hes argued with his love and now has no reason to care about much anymore. Thats the reason behind the empty stage he doesnt care and theres no reason to have anyone watch him perform. the lighting will be facing the perfromers from both the front and the back.

video analysis

21st of may saw the release of the single 'sticks and stones', the video was almost entirely shot in Wimbeldon a suburb in london, which is Jamie T's home town. It features himself and other band members. The styling in the video (right) is something we want to use, its a casual indie look.

The clown normally represents happiness or laughter. But in this shot both are looking angry and straight faced with no expressions. the mise-en-scene is anger, urban youth, the shot looks like a war scene which is another take on youth life like its a battle field, only the strongest wins.
