2. How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?

Our products as a whole represent the band as an indie artist of way, as the single/album cover looks simple but roughed and in an alternative style. The album cover has the same theme through out, it is a wall which has been edited on ‘Adobe Photoshop’ which allows us to add effects to any image we wish to. The music promo will act as a base for the band as it will be the first thing the audience will see as TV is the most popular form of media branding. Then people will take notice and see the band name in magazines adverts which will advertise the album release and give dates of other various events involving the band and songs. The album will be available in stores and also able to be purchased by digital download. Digital download is more common in recent years as technology allowing you to download has become more available to masses allowing the digital age of downloading to really take off, so we thought it would be best if we also made the album/song available to download.

Each product individually is effective as it follows the genre well and follows the mood of the song also.

This is a shot from the promo it shows a similarity to the ‘Mumford and son’ video ‘little lion man’ it shows great lighting from behind Jacob  Ede (me, right) and Ryan Fleming (left) we also used lighting from the front to create a full lit effect to illuminate us both on stage to emphasis the performance.

this is a screen shot of our front cover showing the two band members. The simplicity works well as not much needs to be on the front as the colours and lighting effects used on Adobe photoshop draw the eye to it without using to many big colours.

The magazine advert is works as a whole as it draws attention to the quotes which are the most important part of selling a new band to the public, if the quotes and reviews are bad no one will want to purchase the album or any other merchandise done by the band. so first impressions are very important.

for the magazine advert we took inspiration from a 'florence and the machine' advert were they used a picture in the centre, website, name of song, tour dates, quotes and record label. all of these are vital in creating a powerful magazine advert.
